Bookkeeper
(Part-Time)

The Center for the Integration & Advancement of New Americans (CIANA) is a social services organization that works to integrate new immigrants from the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia, Latin America, and West Africa into the socio-economic and civic life of American society while maintaining pride in their cultural heritage. We are looking for a highly organized person to work closely the former Chief of Staff for a six (6) week intensive training.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented part-time Bookkeeper. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to work with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in bookkeeping, accounting principles, and in-depth knowledge with Microsoft Excel. The Part-time Bookkeeper will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.

 

Duties

  • Manage and perform accounts payable and accounts receivable functions

  • Reconcile bank statements and perform general ledger reconciliation

  • Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate ledger records using accounting software using QuickBooks Online

  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to ensure accuracy of financial data

  • Assist with payroll processing and tax-related activities

  • Support budgeting processes and financial report writing

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards

  • Assist in governmental accounting tasks as needed

  • Maintain accurate records of debits & credits, and perform account analysis for month-end closing

  • Prepare monthly profit and loss and balance sheet reports for the Board of Directors meeting

Requirements

  • Proven experience with accounting software with QuickBooks Online

  • Experience with bank reconciliation, journal entries, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation

  • Familiarity with governmental accounting, tax preparation, payroll processing, and financial report writing preferred

  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in bookkeeping tasks

  • Knowledge of public accounting practices or non-profit accounting is a plus

  • Strong understanding of debits & credits, account analysis, budget management, and technical accounting principles

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high accuracy standards

$25.00 - $30.00 per hour​

 

Hours

7.0 - 14.0 hours between Monday-Friday, 10am-6pm
